HI FRIEND,

Sometimes life asks questions we didn’t plan for.

And sometimes those questions don’t come with clear answers.

They are the kind that shake the ground beneath your feet like an earthquake… and make you question what you thought you wanted, the direction you thought you were going, or even who you thought you were.

In 2017, I found myself in that place.

For me, it looked like watching a very curated version of my life begin to change shape. I had to learn how to stay in relationship with what I love, while slowly loosening the identity, fear, pressure, and old stories wrapped around it.

That process came with questioning the systems I grew up inside of… all of my beliefs, my ideas around success, security, and certainty.

And I’ll be honest… this kind of work isn’t for the faint of heart.

It’s messy. It’s super uncomfortable. And it’s the very hidden, but often gritty work of digging deep and listening for what feels true underneath everything else… and did I mention that it can be very lonely?

But what I’ve learned (very slowly and imperfectly) is that when you walk this path, you don’t have to figure it all out right away… phew.

And thankfully, you don’t have to do it alone.

All that’s really required is learning how to stay open when you don’t know what’s next, and how to keep walking when the path isn’t clear… and also how to trust a deeper part of yourself that lives beyond the fear that’s already carrying you.

When we’re operating from fear, we cling. Letting go is just too scary…

But there’s a moment when you stop gripping so tight… and life begins to feel less like something you’re trying to control, and more like something you’re learning how to move with.

If you’re in that place… questioning, but sensing there’s more freedom available than the story you’ve been living… this retreat is for you.

It’s a place to set down some of the weight, and loosen your grip on what no longer supports your growth, and to open your hands and see what happens when you stop fighting against life and begin moving with it.

To listen, explore, and feel supported…
And to remember who you’ve always been underneath it all.

Luckily, we don’t need to find all the answers.
We just need a safe place to untether, so that they can reveal themselves in their own time.

And I’d love to do that together.

I’m really glad you made it here.
And I’m really excited to release the string with you :)

With so much love,

The Heart of OUR Journey | "Untethered"

I wrote Untethered during a time when I was learning how to loosen my grip on a lot of fear, doubt, and really old stories that had kept me feeling stuck. They’re lessons I’m still learning… and ones that keep evolving and deepening as I move through my life.

This song has become the heart of The Untethered Retreat and is such a beautiful reflection of everything we’ll explore together. This retreat is a way to go deeper into the themes of the music and the very real shifts we'll be practicing in person.

Take a listen, and let it offer a glimpse into the journey we’ll take together.

WHAT TO EXPECT

MUSIC + MOVEMENT + MEDITATION EXPERIENCES

Music has a way of reaching places that words can’t… not just emotionally, but physically too. Sound is vibration, and the body responds to it whether we’re thinking about it or not. Each morning, we’ll begin with music, mantra, breathwork, and light, intentional movement. This isn’t a fast-paced vinyasa class. The practices draw from kriya, meditation, and subtle movement, which can be physically and energetically challenging at times, but always with the intention of working with the nervous system and subtle body rather than pushing for performance. Live music and mantra create a steady rhythm that helps quiet the mind and bring awareness to what’s been sitting underneath the surface. Movement supports that process by giving the body a chance to release what it’s been holding and distribute new energy through the body. The goal isn’t a workout. It’s to create enough space for clarity to arise naturally, so you can reconnect with what feels true and grounded, and carry that with you when you leave.

LIVE MUSIC + STORYTELLING

An intimate evening of live music and storytelling, where Courtney shares her original songs and the personal stories behind them. This interactive space invites you to journal, reflect, share, and connect as heartfelt melodies and meaningful conversations guide us through themes of release, renewal, and self-discovery. Together, we’ll create a memorable experience of connection and transformation.

WISDOM OF VEDANTIC TRADITION

This retreat is rooted in the timeless teachings of the Vedantic traditions, offering profound guidance for living as a whole, integrated human being. It’s an invitation to embrace the fullness of yoga, not just the physical practices, but the deeper wisdom that weaves mind, body, and spirit into harmony. Through light movement, sound, kriya, meditation, pranayama, and beautiful rituals like morning puja, you’ll explore a holistic approach to life that nurtures your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.

TRANSFORMATIVE WORKSHOPS

Engage in transformative workshops that dive into the nature of consciousness, the mind-body connection, and the journey of self-discovery. Through reflective discussions, we’ll uncover the interplay of mind, ego, and higher awareness, and how to align with your true purpose. These sessions will provide practical tools to release what no longer serves and reconnect with the infinite potential within you.

UNSTRUCTURED TIME FOR REST AND INTEGRATION

Take time to soak in the beauty of the Oregon Coast at your own pace. Whether you choose to walk along the beach, explore the charming town of Manzanita, indulge in a massage, hike nearby trails, or simply sit quietly with the ocean as your backdrop, this unstructured time allows you to reflect, recharge, and integrate the day’s experiences in a way that feels right for you.

HEALING, NOURISHING MEALS

Enjoy fresh, wholesome meals crafted to cleanse, nourish, and support your body. Each meal is thoughtfully prepared to restore energy, promote balance, and align with the retreat’s focus on renewal and well-being. We do accommodate dietary needs!

CREATIVE EXPLORATION

Tap into your creative side and explore the truest parts of yourself through guided activities designed to inspire self-expression. Whether through movement, writing, or other forms of artistry, these moments of creativity provide a space to connect with your inner voice and let it flow freely. It’s a chance to discover new ways of expressing who you truly are.

SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY TIME

Spend time with a group of like-minded women who truly get it. Whether sharing stories, reflecting together, or simply enjoying each other’s company, you will feel seen, supported, and connected. It’s about building real relationships and creating a sense of belonging that stays with you long after the retreat.

TIME IN NATURE

The beach is yours, anytime. Whether it’s an early morning walk, watching the sunset, or just sitting with the sound of the waves, you’ll have full access to soak in the calming rhythm of the rolling tides. If you’re up for more adventure, there are nearby hiking trails to explore, giving you the chance to connect with the raw beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

A RADICAL SHIFT IN PERSPECIVE

This is a chance to step away from the noise of daily life for a few days. It’s a long enough pause to see life more clearly. When things slow down, you start to notice what you’ve been holding onto, what’s been running you, and what might be ready to loosen the grip on because you finally have space to listen and the time to sort through it all. Through music, movement, reflection, and rest, perspective shifts in a way that feels very natural not forced.

A DEEPER CONNECTION WITH YOURSELF

This is a space to soften around the stories that have been shaping your life. Most of us are living from old stories without even realizing it… stories about who we’re supposed to be, what success should look like, what feels safe… the list goes on. With lots of care and curiosity, you’ll reconnect with the part of you that is constant, resilient, and maybe even a little more open than you might realize.Questions come up naturally here like Who am I when I let go? Who am I when I stop trying to control the outcome?

And the beauty is that there’s no pressure to figure it all out… just a lot of room to listen and see which ones still feel honest and which ones don’t.

FREEDOM THROUGH SELF-ACCEPTANCE

As the fear and self-doubt quiet down, you start to feel things differently. You notice where you’ve been holding back, and what happens when you don’t have to do that anymore. Guided reflection, embodied practices, and shared wisdom will help dissolve the barriers that have kept you feeling small. In their place, you’ll discover an unshakable knowing and a stronger, steady trust in yourself that naturally shifts how you move through life, connect with others, and step into your true purpose.

THE COURAGE TO STEP INTO THE LIFE THAT’S CALLING YOU

This retreat is about aligning your life with your higher purpose. Maybe it’s a dream you’ve been holding back, a version of yourself you’ve been too afraid to embody, or a calling you’ve been resisting. Whatever it is, you’ll leave with more clarity, strength, and practical tools to move forward confidently and with intention.

THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF MUSIC

Music has a way of opening us up, connecting us to something deeper, and helping us heal in ways that words can’t touch. At this retreat, it’s a central part of the journey. From live performances that stir up your emotions to chanting vibrationally rich mantras that calm your mind, music creates a space to release what’s weighing you down and reconnect with what matters most. It flows through everything we’ll do, helping you tap into your inner wisdom and experience moments of real transformation.

about YOUR RETREAT host

COURTNEY COLE

YOGI | RECORDING ARTIST | MENTOR

Courtney Cole is a singer-songwriter and recording artist whose music is for people navigating their inner lives. Her songs create space to feel, reflect, and reconnect with parts of ourselves that may have been lost or forgotten along the way. Drawing from her own lived experience, Courtney creates music that meets people where they are and invites a deeper understanding of their own stories.

Weaving her New Orleans roots, years on Nashville stages, and deep study in the Himalayas, Courtney invites listeners to go deeper into her music through The Love Freq, an extension of her work created to explore the emotional and inner layers already present in her songs. After earning her music degree from Belmont University and touring with artists like Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney, a deep calling led her to India, where she completed over 500 hours of study and became a certified Sattva Himalayan Yoga Master Teacher. Through her music, immersive sound experiences, and retreats like The Untethered Retreat, Courtney creates spaces to slow down, listen more closely to ourselves, and reconnect with what the music has already been stirring, reminding us that healing isn’t about becoming someone new, but about coming home to who we already are.

about YOUR CHEF

ALAYA WYNDHAM

HOLISTIC CHEF

Making delicious and nourishing food has always been one of Alaya’s favorite pastimes, so it naturally became one of the most fulfilling parts of her work, and a grounding force in her practice. She loves creating spaces where people can relax, enjoy themselves, and feel deeply nourished.

Alaya brings this passion to life in three distinct ways: as a retreat chef, through intimate event catering, and via her meal prep service that delivers healthy, prepared meals to Portland, OR and the North Oregon Coast.

As a functional nutritionist devoted to local food systems, and a true foodie who cares deeply about flavor, Alaya’s cooking is rooted in hyper-local, nutrient-dense ingredients thoughtfully combined to support the unique needs of the people she serves. Her meals are crafted with intention, taking into account the health goals, energetic needs, and context of each client or group.

People often say they can feel the love in her food, and that lights her up, because she truly loves this work.

FAQ’s

  • This retreat is for women who are ready to let go of the stories that keep them limited… who can feel they’ve outgrown something, even if they can’t quite name what’s next yet.

It’s for women who are open to letting music lead.

Music is woven throughout our days, and through our practices and our reflections. We use mantra, kriya, breathwork, and honest conversation guided by sound to help you slow everything down enough so you can actually hear yourself again.

This space is for women who value depth, and who crave meaningful connection. Who are ready to loosen their grip on old narratives and explore what feels true now.

If you’re longing for a few days away in an intimate oceanfront setting to just breathe, listen, reconnect, and reset, all held by music, community, and space… then this retreat is for you!

  • This retreat is not a loud, high-energy girls’ trip where we’re staying up late and filling the schedule up :) And it’s definitely not a workout retreat either… so if you’re looking for strong yoga flows, or a big physical push, this probably isn’t it.

We move. We practice kriya. We work with mantra. We breathe. But none of it is about performing or proving that we can do all of the poses. It’s way more about creating space, and letting your body and nervous system feel safe enough to unwind.

This retreat is also not about fixing yourself. You’re not broken. There’s nothing here that needs to be improved or reinvented. No one is going to hand you answers or tell you who to become.

There will be a lot of quiet moments. A lot of self-reflection. Honest, open-hearted conversations. Time to simply be with yourself without any pressure.

If slowing down feels scary right now… that’s totally okay! And if you don’t feel ready to look at some of the stories you’ve been carrying… that’s okay too!

But if the idea of space feels like relief… or if something inside you feels tired of holding it all together… or if you’re craving depth, stillness, and real connection… then this is probably the space for you :)
